I have over eleven years of experience with
GIS programs, the last nine years as an environmental consultant
focused on the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
for database and project management of assessment, remediation,
and restoration sites on the central coast of California.
I specialize in the development of customized
GIS databases to meet long or short-term client needs and to provide
organized and accessible project data. Recently, I managed
and updated a GIS database for a 2700-acre oilfield remediation
project under the close scrutiny of numerous regulatory agencies
including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, California Department
of Fish and Game, California Coastal Commission, and multiple departments
of county and local government. Developed for the client with
input from the agencies, the GIS database is employed to track habitat
disturbances, sensitive species populations, weed eradication efforts
and a variety of additional site management data. Groundwater monitoring
and soil plume changes are also included.
I am proficient in
the use of a variety of GIS and graphics programs including:
ArcView and Arc/INFO (version 9.2, as well as ArcView 3.2a)
Spatial and 3D Analyst for ArcView and Arc/INFO
ArcIMS
AutoCAD 2000
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Acrobat
Adobe Photoshop
As well as these related programs and equipment.
Microsoft Access
GPS Pathfinder Office
TerraSync
Trimble Pro XR GPS unit
Trimble GeoExplorer 3 GPS unit
Trimble GeoXT GPS unit
I have also employed
BASINS, an ArcView program, in the development of Total Maximum
Daily Loads (TMDL's) and CITYGreen, to analyze the effects of vegetation
on urban landscapes.
In addition, my studies
in natural resources management have provided a broad knowledge
of biological and environmental factors. I have performed numerous
botanical surveys and wildlife studies including pre-disturbance
surveys for the identification and demarcation of sensitive species,
habitat quality assessments, evaluation of construction impacts
and assessment of habitat disturbance following activities.
Other field-related experience includes soil and groundwater sampling,
and air monitoring.
I also have experience
in small office networking and computer repair, including complete
computer rebuild, server installations (Windows NT, 2003), and
cabling.
If you would like
to see a complete resume of my experience then please email me.
